What better way to enjoy the autumn air than to bike around campus! Sign up to rent a bike from WesBikes! It’s $5/week for 10 weeks charged to your student account. You will receive a helmet, a bike lock (+key), and a pump. If you are interested, please fill out the form by Monday September 21st at 5pm. (and sooner the better)

Oh it’s (going to be) so beautiful out, and what other ways to make it more enjoyable than to bike around?! Sign up to rent a bike from WesBikes! It’s $5/week for 6 weeks ($30 total to your student account) and you will get a helmet, a bike lock (+key), and a pump. If you are interested, please fill out the form by March 17. WesBikes Coordinators Needed (free bike rental!)

WesBikes – Wesleyan’s student-run bike rental program – is looking for some new coordinators to help distribute bikes this semester.

We have a fleet of 20 bikes that are rented out each semester, and coordinators help make sure equipment is serviced, distributed, and collected during each rental period. Coordinators only need to commit a few hours at the beginning and end of each semester, and their rentals are FREE.

WesRent a WesBike

Though Punxsutawney Phil’s vindication seemed imminent just a few days ago, threats of snow loom over the next few days and threaten early plans for Foss chillin’. Nonetheless, as the spring season approaches and the weather improves, the prospect of biking to class becomes more and more viable. Winston Soh ’14 tells us:

Sign-up for Spring 2013 Rental (March 25, Monday – May 10, Friday)
are currently open. Lease will be 7 weeks long, costing $35. Bike,
helmet, pump, U-lock are provided.

Sign-ups will close on March 20, Wednesday, 11:59pm.

Calling For WesBikes Coordinators

Sophia Park ’14 has got a bike, you can ride it if you like, it’s got a basket, a bell that rings, and things to make it look good:

Are you staying on campus over the summer? Are you interested in coordinating and distributing bikes over this summer?

WesBikes is looking for summer coordinators, as well as train for the position in the coming fall semester. This will be a great opportunity to learn how to work with the WSA, Physical Plant, Student Account, and P-Safe officers.

We are looking for two underclassmen to coordinate the distribution and collection of our WesBikes fleet this semester, as well as train for the position of director of the program next semester.

This is a great opportunity (especially for freshmen) to develop a greater understanding of how to work with Physical Plant, Student Accounts, Public Safety and the WSA.

Interested in bike riding but live far from campus? Don’t want to buy your own new or used bike you then have to worry about it on breaks and over the summer? Like riding on chic silver and purple WesBikes? Then show your interest and send us your information for consideration!

The second rental period begins the Friday (3/25) after we return from Spring break and lasts until the Friday (5/6) before reading week. The rental fee is $20 for 6 lovely weeks with your WesBikes, and will be charged to your student account once you receive your bike. We’ll be in touch with those selected as soon as possible.

Application will be closed at 11:59 pm this Saturday March 12th 2011.
