Africa Night Tonight

IMG_1681Come join the Wesleyan Friends of Africa for a fundraiser dinner with delicious food cooked by Full House. Professor Mike Nelson and Kennedy Odede will speak. There will also be dancing and music.

All proceeds will benefit The Kibera School for Girls.

Wesleyan Friends of Africa WesFest Walk-A-Thon

The Wesleyan Friends of Africa association writes in to encourage the Wesleyan community to join and/or become a sponsor of the WesFest Walk-A-Thon.

Wesleyan Friends of Africa is hosting a Walk-a-thon to raise money for the building of a primary school for girls in Kibera, Kenya, the hometown of Kennedy Odede ’12! Please get sponsors and come out this Saturday to make this school a reality for the girls in Kibera. This slum of Nairobi currently has no education available for girls, but this Saturday YOU can help change that!

Friends of Africa Benefit Concert

The Wesleyan Friends of Africa are putting on a benefit concert to raise money to build a school for girls in the Kibera slum in Kenya. So, if you want to rock out to some sick reggae, soul, rock, and funk, AND feel like a great person because you helped a little girl in Kenya get an education, then come to Psi U Friday at 10:15 with $4, or buy tickets in advance for $3.

Two student bands will perform, Banish the Rabbit (Rock/Reggae/Jam Band ) and Barefoot Junction (Funk/Soul), along with a band made up of Wes alums, Mamarazzi (above).
