Featuring marches by Sousa, Shostakovich, Prokofiev, and Hanssen; Chopin Preludes for woodwinds; and Colonial Song by Percy Grainger; with guest bagpiper Matt Welch, helping to recreate a bit of Bruce’s CONVERGENCE: Some Parades for Charlie’s Dad.

Played in high school band and miss it? Play an instrument but wish you could be in a group? Want a fun and painless way to snag an extra credit this semester?
WesWinds is a wind ensemble that meets on Tuesday nights in Crowell Concert Hall from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM. No audition required; if you can play an instrument and have access to it here, you are already qualified. Take it for a full credit (CR/U or graded) or just for fun. The group is open to the Middletown community as well. The final concert takes place during the last class of the semester.
All instruments are welcome, but we are especially looking for:

WesWinds is a wind ensemble that meets on Tuesday nights in Crowell Concert Hall from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM. No audition required; take it for credit or just for fun. The music selections are eclectic, ranging from last semester’s classic military suites by Gustav Holst to last spring’s “Godzilla Eats Las Vegas”. The group is open to the Middletown community as well. Contact either the conductor (phadley(at)wesleyan(dot)edu) or me (mcbrown(at)wesleyan(dot)edu) with any questions. The first rehearsal is Tuesday, January 25.

WesWinds (the Wesleyan Wind Ensemble) is holding its spring concert on Tuesday. We’re performing two pieces by David Bedford (Praeludium, and The Sun Paints Rainbows on the Vast Waves), as well as the Finale of Saint Saens Organ Symphony No. 3. Come and have a listen! It’s not going to last too long, so there’ll be plenty of time for you to check out the (numerous) other events happening that night as well.
