Yay Bikes! But Why?

Sometime just after midnight on Wednesday, April 11th, a flock of yellow Penske trucks made their way onto a quiet and peaceful Wesleyan. In the frigid night, illuminated by nothing more than the orange glow of nearby streetlights, they began unloading their cargo: 100 orange bikes to be dispensed on bike racks around the campus.

Economie Dance

From Kerry Nix ’15:

Wondering why students on campus are turning to stone? Concerned about
their use of umbrellas under clear skies? Confused about what could
possibly motivate these presumably sane individuals to stop in their
tracks?

Behold Economie, Wesleyan’s newest and most kick-ass-est social
justice-focused dance group. These freeze-mobs are just the beginning.
If you’re into promoting racial equality and inclusiveness on campus,
dancing, having fun with umbrellas, and generally doing something
awesome – join us! To find out more, come to our meeting this Sunday
at 7pm in 41 Wyllys room 114 and/or sign up at our table at the
Student Activities Fair in Beckham Hall on Friday!

When: February 10th (Sunday), 7 – 8pm
Where: 41 Wyllys Room 114

24-Hour Study Space Party

24-Hour Study Space

I still can’t believe we finally have a 24-hour study space. I am beyond ecstatic.

From Chloe Murtagh ’15 and the WSA Organization and External Affairs Committee:

There’s nothing worse than getting kicked out of sci li at 2am (except maybe procrastinating that hard). The former is now history, as the WSA is excited to present you with a new 24-hour study space!!

To celebrate, we’ll be devouring baked goods in our new all-day, all-night, always-productive work space!

Come by the glass room of sci li – finally accessible through the sci li lobby – this Wednesday night between 10pm and midnight to rejoice in the ability to put off papers until 2am!

Sponsored by the WSA and the Wesleyan Library.

When: Wednesday (January 30th), 10pm – midnight
Where: The 24-hour Study Space
